KATRA, Apr 3: Resurgence-the annual Cultural and Sports Festival of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) was inaugurated at the Varsity by Vice Chancellor, Prof S K. Jain, today. The event was organized at Matrika auditorium.
Resurgence 2015 comprises of events in three different categories like music, theatre and dance. The main highlights of the fest are Western Vocal, Legendary Drama, Fashion Show and many more.
The day concluded with the prize distribution for Literary and fine art events which had been conducted around the span of two months as preliminary events of Resurgence 2015.
The Festival will continue for two more days in which various events will be conducted under different categories and the concluding ceremony will be held on April 5, 2015.
On second and third days various teams from other universities/institutions will also take part in the festival.
Dr. Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students, Dr. A. K. Das, Associate Dean of Students and other key functionaries of the University were present on the occasion.
Dr. Varun K. Tripathi, the President Board of Cultural Activities (BCA), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Dr. A.K. Sharma, the President Board of Sports Activities (BSA), Anil Bhardwaj, Vice-President (BCA), and Dr. Sandeep Bhougal, Vice-President (BSA) are the faculty co-coordinators for the event.
Mayur Dhariwal, GS SAC and Ashwani Kumar, GS BSA, have also a big role in the organization of the Festival.
