Cultural heritage prog marks conclusion

JAMMU, June 15: On the concluded day of workshop on ‘safeguarding an intangible cultural heritage’ a programme was organized by Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Jammu at Harman Dance Institute, Upper Gadhigarh, near here.
The Director of Sangam Theatre Group, Reasi, Mr Khan was the chief guest while Om Parkash presided over the function.
Gurvinder Kour expert of the workshop, developed the skill among participants through Folk Dance, the participants appreciated the efforts made by the Madam Gurvinder Kour and Director Romesh Singh Chib. Khan delivered lecture on the topic ‘folk dance and music of Jammu’ and also highlighted the need to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage.
The events were supported by the Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi under the scheme “Safe-Guarding an Intangible Culture Heritage” for the year 2014-15. Ramesh Singh Chib, Director, Bhartiya Kala Sangam presented vote of thanks and spoke that such type of programme is 1st time organized in these areas and also thanked Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi for sponsoring the project.
