Rajouri, Oct 1: The Late Harvinder Singh Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament kicked off with enthusiasm in Thannamandi. Colonel Rohit Bharat, Commanding Officer, 61 RR, inaugurated the event, with Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Principal, GDC Thannamandi, as guest of honour. In the opening match, Trader’s Club defeated GDC Thannamandi, successfully chasing a target of 105 runs.
Colonel Bharat highlighted the Army’s commitment to youth engagement through sports. The event, held in memory of Harvinder Singh Rawat, aims to promote discipline, harmony, and community spirit.
Imran Khan, President, Press Council Thannamandi, lauded the initiative. Local officials and sports lovers attended the event, which promises exciting cricket in the days ahead.
