*Udit Deswal bags man of the Tournament award

JAMMU, Dec 5: Six days Inter-Regional POWERGRID Cricket Tournament 2015 concluded here today with Corporate Centre emerging as the winners of the Tournament.
In an exciting finals played here today, CC defeated NR-I by 27 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, CC scored 146 overs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Tushar Parida top scored with 38 runs. For NR-I, Pankaj Rai took three wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs.
Chasing a target of 147 runs, NR-I managed to score 119 runs in 19.2 overs, thus lost the match by 27 runs. Mukesh Bhakar and Udit took 3 wickets each, while Mahesh Pruthy and Sandeep claimed 2 wickets each. Tushar Parida was declared as man of the match for his superb batting.
SK Sharma, Executive Director POWERGRID, Northern Region-II was the chief guest in the final match. He gave away the trophies and mementoes to the players and officials.
Udit Deswal of CC was declared man of the tournament and best batsman also. Mahesh Pruthy of CC was declared best bowler and Sandeep Malhotra of CC as the best fielder.
Earlier, RS Singh, AGM (Punjab) presented welcome addrss, while vote of thanks was presented by R Narayan, Chief Manager (HR).
Eleven teams from various Regions of POWERGRID participated in this tournament. The participating teams were Eastern Region-I(ER-I), Eastern Region-II(ER-II), Northern Region-I(NR-I) ,Southern Region-I (SR-I), Southern Region-II(SR-II), , Western Region-I(WR-I), Western Region-II(WR-II),North Eastern Region(NER),Corporate Centre(CC), POSOCO and hosts Northern Region-II(NR-II).
