Chib flags off White Water Rafting Championship-2012

SRINAGAR, Sept 17:  Minister for Youth Service and Sports and Medical Education  R.S.Chib today flagged off White Water Rafting championship, 2012 at Pahalgam. About 6 teams have participated in the competition which included local teams of the area. The championship will continue for two days.
MLA Pahalgam, Rafi Ahmad Mir was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chib said that the present Coalition government has taken various steps to harness the sports talent of our youth. He said with the organizing of Water Rafting Competition in the picturesque world famous tourist resort have helped the state in boosting the tourism flow in the valley.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director Youth Services and Sports  Jai Pal Singh, Director Tourism Talat parvez and other officers of tourism department were present on the occasion.
Later the Minister distributed the Awards and trophies among the participant teams.
