JAMMU, Aug 24: In a major achievement, the Jammu & Kashmir senior men’s cricket team secured its maiden semi-final berth in the prestigious Bucchi Babu Invitation Cricket Tournament, organized by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
Led by Paras Dogra, J&K defeated Baroda by 10 wickets to top their group with 13 points. Chasing a modest 79-run target, openers Vivrant Sharma and Yawar Hassan sealed the win in just 24.2 overs.
Earlier, Baroda posted 182/9 in 45 overs. Vanshaj Sharma was the star performer with a four-wicket haul and was declared Player of the Match. Abid Mushtaq also took four wickets, while Sahil Lotra claimed one.
J&K’s unbeaten run also includes a dominant 9-wicket win over Indian Railways. JKCA officials Brig Anil Gupta and Mithun Manhas hailed the victory as a landmark moment for J&K cricket, reflecting the team’s steady rise after their strong Ranji Trophy campaign last season.
