JAMMU, Apr 15: Bringing pride to Jammu and Kashmir, twin brothers Akshit Dhar and Anchit Dhar completed their maiden full marathon at the Wizz Air Milan Marathon in Italy, marking a remarkable feat of endurance, discipline, and brotherhood.
The alumni of MHAC School, Nagbani, the Dhar twins turned their first full marathon into a story of perseverance and emotional strength. The 42.195 km course, winding through the scenic and historic streets of Milan, saw participation from thousands of runners across the globe, with very few representing India.
Currently residing in different countries-Akshit in Germany and Anchit in India-the duo trained for months remotely, syncing schedules via video calls and weekend check-ins. Despite travel chaos caused by Anchit’s cancelled flight from India, he reached Milan just hours before race time and still managed to finish the marathon despite battling severe cramps mid-race.
Anchit clocked a time of 4 hours 42 minutes, while Akshit finished in an impressive 3 hours 37 minutes-second fastest among Indian participants. “This wasn’t about timing or trophies. It was about proving we could do it-together, even if apart,” said Akshit.
