NEW DELHI, Apr 2: New Zealand cricketers Trent Boult, Adam Milne and Jimmy Neesham on Friday arrived in Chennai to join Mumbai Indians squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).
The trio will now undergo the seven-day mandatory quarantine period at the team hotel.
“National duties to IPL duties. The trio has landed in Chennai! Welcome Trent, Adam, and Jimmy,” Mumbai Indians tweeted.
The five-time champions Mumbai were by far the best side in IPL 2020 and topped the group during the play-offs. They beat a good side the Delhi Capitals comfortably in the final to take yet another IPL title. (PTI)
The Mumbai-based franchise has won the title on five occasions – 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
The defending champions will start the IPL 2021 season by taking on the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opener of the tournament on April 9 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. (UNI)
