Bindiya, Alok emerge winners in chess

JAMMU, Apr 15: Bindiya and Alok emerged winners in the chess event, organised during the annual sports meet at Dogra College of Education, which concluded today.
Bindiya beat Neha and claimed title trophy of Chess event, whereas, in boys section Alok outplayed Arun to lift title trophy.
In the Volleyball match, Gandhi House beat Jhelum House by 25-20, 18-25 and 25-21 points.
In the Tug of War (Women), Jhelum House defeated Chenab House, whereas in the men category, Himalaya team thrashed Nilgiri team.
In Shotput (boys), Arun Kumar bagged gold medal, while Razak Hussain and Mohd Abdullah claimed silver and bronze medals, whereas in girls category, Neha stood first, while Sarita and Kamla Devi bagged second and third positions respectively.
In Discuss Throw (Men), Razak Hussain, Pardeep Singh and Ghar Singh emerged winners, whereas in girls category, Sarita, Kamla Devi and Kiran bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In Javelin Throw (boys), Vicky Sharma bagged first position, while Razak Hussain and Nitin Sharma claimed second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Bharti Sharma, Kamla Devi and Pooja Charak emerged winners.
In Long Jump (boys), Pardeep Singh, Nassir and Ghar Singh emerged winners, whereas, in girls category, Dolly, Pooja Charak and Anjali claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In High Jump (boys), Vicky Sharma, Farooq and Pardeep secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Dolly, Bharti and Sukhwinder bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 100 meter race (men), Nassir, Farooq and Pardeep claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, whereas in girls category, Bharti Sharma claimed first positions, while Rinky Devi and Dolly Kumari remained second and third respectively.
The valedictory function was presided over by Prof BD Damral, Director, Dogra College of Education, who awarded gold, silver and bronze medals to winners of the sports meet in presence of Sumer Singh.
At the end, vote of thanks was presented by Neha Sambyal, member, Sports Committee.
