Bhargava Public School Samba holds Anti-Drug Awareness Programme

JAMMU, May 6: Bhargava Public School, Samba, in collaboration with the People’s Forum for Human Values, organized an impactful Drug Abuse Awareness Programme aimed at educating students about the dangers of drug addiction. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma as the Chief Guest and SSP Samba Virender Kumar Manhas as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was also graced by the President, Advisor, and General Secretary of the People’s Forum for Human Values, along with members of the Rotary Club Samba.
The chief guest and guest of honour were welcomed by Chairman, Principal and staff of Bhargava Public School. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a Saraswati Vandana dance performance by the students. Students then delivered speeches on the topics “Say No to Drugs” and “Nasha Mukt Bharat.” A thought-provoking skit depicting the impact of peer pressure in drug abuse was highly appreciated.
In his address, Rajesh Sharma emphasized mass awareness on the ill effects of drugs. V.K. Manhas encouraged students to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police. Akshara Sharma, Divanshi Sambyal, and Divya secured the first, second, and third positions in the speech competition. Jagdish Raj delivered the vote of thanks, while Gunjan Jasrotia conducted the proceedings.
