Bhalwal zone wins kho-kho, kabaddi U-19 boys titles

JAMMU, Aug 28: Outplaying Akhnoor in Under-19 boys kho-kho and kabaddi summit clashes, Bhalwal zone lifted the double title in the District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu at Government Higher Secondary School, here.
Bhalwal trounced Akhnoor by 9 points in the kho-kho final, while it got better of Akhnoor by 10 points in the kabaddi title clash.
In volleyball Under-19 boys, Khour outclassed Arnia by two sets to nil (2-0) to win the title.
Meanwhile, Inter-School competitions of Jammu District in the disciplines of Basket boys and girls Under-19 and handball boys Under-19 years and girls all age groups were also held at Mini Stadium, Parade Ground, here today.
In basketball Under-19 boys final, MHAC Nagbani defeated KC Public School by (40-32), while in Under-19 girls, MHAC Nagbani thrashed Army Public School, Damana by (38-17).
In handball Under-19 boys, BSF Paloura got better of Heritage Public by Six goals to three (6-3) to win the title, while in Under-19 girls, Presentation Convent won against BSF Paloura by a solitary goal.
Meanwhile, in handball Under-17 girls, Heritage School beat New Era Environmental School by three goals to one (3-1), while in Under-14 handball girls, Presentation Convent blanked Heritage School by three goals to nil (3-0).
The matches were officiated by Tarseem Singh, Sanjay Jamwal, Gourav Sharma, Chander Shekhar, Jyoti Sharma, Satika Sharma, Vishal Bharti, Amit Kalsi, Mousmi Verma, Rajesh Bandral and Vaneet Pangotra.
