BCCI launches ‘WPL Speed Queen’ 2026; JKCA calls for participation

JAMMU, Jan 2: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has launched a unique initiative, “WPL Speed Queen” 2026, aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging women fast-bowling talent across the country. The program will commence from January 5, 2026 and provides a credible platform for aspiring women cricketers from various State Cricket Associations.
The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has urged young women players from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to register for the initiative through https://wplspeedqueen.com. For J&K participants, trials will be held under the Delhi Zone at the following venues and dates: Delhi – Jan 5 & 11, Ghaziabad – Jan 6, Noida – Jan 7, Gurgaon – Jan 8, Meerut – Jan 9 and Jaipur – Jan 10.
JKCA emphasized that participants will need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The association has appealed to all potential women fast bowlers from the region to take part in this opportunity to showcase their talent and aim for recognition at the national level through this prestigious BCCI initiative.
