JAMMU, Dec 23: Banyan International School managed in association with Pearson Schools celebrated its Annual Day-2017 themed ‘Glimpses of India’ at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here today.
The chief guest for the event, former Chief Minister J&K, Gulam Nabi Azad lighted the ceremonial lamp and gave a go ahead to the celebrations.
Chairman of the School, Harinder Mahajan presented welcome address, while Principal, Ramesh TR presented School’s Annual Report highlighting achievements of the School.
The cultural event commenced on a pious note with the Saraswati Vandana, it spread around a melodious aura of serenity and tranquillity among all attendees.
The cultural programme was bouquet of representative dance collections measuring all parts of India into it.
The folk lore of Kunju-Chanchalo was the main stay of the event. The performances of Lavani-Gondhal, Kathak and Odissi dance forms found everyone amazed at the talent and potential of young vibrant performers of Banyan International School.
Young lads performing Bhangra to the beats of dhol was a sight to behold. The School Orchestra, with its melody and fluent rhythm took everyone to the ride of heavenly realm of symphony.
The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the effort of Banyan international School in presenting a cultural program which had the essence of national unity and enthralling depiction of rich and varied heritage. He further stressed upon the need of maintaining communal harmony and universal brotherhood through cultural exchange.
Parshdeep Singh from Pearson Schools applauded the performance of the students and appreciated the teachers for their efforts.
Vice Chairman of the School, Sahil Mahajan proposed the vote of thanks.
