SRINAGAR, Jan 4: Bandipora Premier League being organised by Army’s 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) commenced today at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Bandipora.
The Bandipora Premier League was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shah Faisal in presence of players from all the participating teams, Army officials, police officials including Addition Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police and officials from District Administration.
In the league, a total of 16 teams will be seen vying for the coveted trophy. The league will witness 18 matches.
Players like Saleem Jahangir, who represented the State in Ranji from 2003 to 2006, Umar llahi a member of State under 19 team from 2010-12 and Nasseer Lone presently playing for the under 19 team are among the stars and crowd favourites in the League.
Shah Faisal, while tossing the coin for the opening match, wished the player luck.
