JAMMU, Feb 3: Balbir Singh Jamwal has brought laurels to the UT by winning the Gold Medal in Men’s Singles (70+) at the Yonex-Sunrise Masters All India Ranking Badminton Tournament, held at Agra, Uttar Pradesh, from January 25 to February 1, 2026. The tournament was organised by the Uttar Pradesh State Badminton Association through the Agra Badminton Association under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India.
Balbir Singh Jamwal has an illustrious career, having won several medals in All India Masters National Championships and ranking tournaments. He has also represented India in World Masters Badminton Championships across various countries and is a Bronze Medalist at the Sri Lanka International Badminton Tournament 2025.
Other J&K players also performed well, with Anil Gurkha winning Silver in Men’s Doubles (65+) and Romesh Sharma securing Silver in Mixed Doubles (60+) and Bronze in Men’s Doubles. The Badminton Association of J&K congratulated all medal winners and wished them success in future events.
