JAMMU, Sept 2: The Yonex Sunrise Seniors and Juniors Ranking-cum-Selection Badminton Tournament entered its second day with a series of thrilling matches, showcasing the emerging badminton talent of Jammu and Kashmir.
The tournament is being organized by the Badminton Association of J&K in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council. Matches are being officiated by Pawanjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Anil Gurkha and Preeti Gupta, under the supervision of SAI badminton coaches Touseef Ahmed and Vikram Saini.
In the Boys Singles U-19 category, Udayan, Shivansh and Bhavdeep registered straight-set wins. In the Girls Singles U-19, Suhani Sharma, Diamond and Paavni advanced comfortably. In Women’s Singles, Unnati Jaral and Krishika emerged victorious, while in the Men’s Singles category, Raghav and Bhavya secured wins in straight sets. The tournament continues to provide a platform for young shuttlers to shine and gain valuable experience as part of the selection process for upcoming national-level events.
