SRINAGAR, Mar 27: A badminton tournament was organized at Pandit Colony Sheikhpura under the banner of Sanjivani Sharda Kendra, witnessing enthusiastic participation from local children.
The young participants displayed remarkable energy, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the event. Notably, the tournament was independently organized by the children themselves, reflecting their initiative and commitment towards promoting sports activities in the colony.
Organizers stated that such events are crucial in fostering discipline, confidence, and teamwork among youth, especially in areas where sports infrastructure remains limited. They also highlighted the lack of adequate facilities for children in the camp, urging the administration to pay greater attention to developing sports infrastructure in the area.
The initiative for organizing the tournament was led by Suryansh, Kaushal and Sumit Bhat. Senior residents of the colony, T K Koul and Ashok Hakhoo, graced the occasion as chief guests. They appealed to the Government to ensure better sports facilities and opportunities for the youth in the colony.
