JKCA U-19 Men’s Multi-Day final

SRINAGAR, July 16: Azhad Arshid scored classical half-century to take JKCA Blue to 196/6 in 59.3 overs in a rain-delayed Day-1 of the final match of the ongoing Under-19 Men’s Multi-Day Cricket Tournament, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at SK Stadium here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JKCA Blue started on a disastrous note as they lost three early wickets including two in-form batsmen- Basit Akbar and Momin Muzzaffar.
At one point of time, JKCA Blue were struggling at 44/4, before the pair of Azhad Arshid and Hatim Riyaz consolidated the innings and gave respectability to the score. Azhad scored magnificent 67 runs, while Hatim contributed valuable 34 runs.
Batting mainstay Mohammad Mausab (36) and all-rounder Oman Fayaz (12) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn today.
For JKCA Orange, Aman Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Udhay Partap Singh and Towheed claimed one wicket each.
The 3-day match is being officiated by Faizan Fayaz and Hilal Mir as umpires, while Amjid was the scorer.
“After conducting the successful One-Day format tournaments in all age groups (men and women), JKCA has launched the Multi-Day events to test the temperament and attitude of the players besides their skill. This event has started with Under-19 Men’s Multi-Day tournament,” said JKCA Sub Committee Members in a statement issued today.
