SHOPIAN, Jan 28: Atul Kumar Gupta, President All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association and chief patron chess in schools program for J&K State today inaugurated mega Basic Chess Training Program in Shopian district in the presence of Ashiq Ahmad, Mohd Shafi, Baldev Raj and other members of AJKCA.
Many local youth drawn from the district were trained and guided to complete the program.
Outstanding kids and local organizers were also presented medals and trophies by the chief guest.
There was tremendous enthusiasm among the local youth towards this special initiative of AJKCA.
Mr Gupta informed that AJKCA with the support of different agencies have already imparted training to about 50,000 youth of J&K in different districts.
He further said that with the diversion of youth minds towards sports and allied activities, J&K will move towards positive direction and youth will get big platform to display their talents.
