JAMMU, Jan 22: The all-round show by Atul Sharma, Imtiyaz Malik and Habib helped Hill Peoples Club to thrash Royal Warriors by 9 wickets in a high scoring match of the 3rd Parmodh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Mandal Cricket Club at Mandal, near here.
Winning the toss and batting first, Royal Warriors scored a decent total of 175 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. Nikhil scored power-packed 87 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Jatin contributed 44 off 41 balls, studded with 4 fours and one six. Imtiyaz Malik, Habib and Arshid claimed one wicket apiece for Hill Peoples Club.
In reply, Hill Peoples Club, powered by brilliant half-centuries from Atul Sharma, Habib and Imtiyaz reached the required target comfortably in 14.1 overs by losing just one wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Atul smashed 63 off just 21 balls which included 4 fours and equal number of sixes, while Habib hit 4 boundaries and 2 sixes in his 38-ball 53 runs. Sunny Malik scored 52 off 24 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. For Royal Warriors, Pardeep claimed the lone wicket to fall. Atul was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant innings.
The match was officiated by Monu Sharma and Balbir Singh as umpires, while Sunny Sharma was the scorer. GS Michael is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
