Athletics Department wins Cricket final

JAMMU, June 11: Athletics Department emerged triumphant, beating the Class X team by 9 wickets in the finals of the staff-student cricket tournament, which concluded today.
The 3-day tournament featured five teams which included Teaching Staff, Athletics Department and one team each from Classes X, XI and XII.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Class X won the toss and elected to bat first. Vikas Salaria of Athletics Department took 4 wickets in the very first over and the whole side of Class X bundled out for a paltry total of 23 runs in 8 overs, with Vikas scalping 6 important wickets and Sahil Dogra claiming 3 wickets.
The Athletic Department team chased the required runs in just 1.3 overs to lift the title. Vikas Salaria was adjudged man of the match for his superb contribution with the ball.
