Athletes shine at National Masters Athletics C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 5: Masters athletes from Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir delivered an outstanding performance at the National Masters Athletics Championship held at Patel Synthetic Stadium, Ajmer (Rajasthan), winning a total of 19 medals. The championship witnessed participation of over 3,000 athletes from 20 States and Union Territories.
Creating history, the event was live telecast for the first time across India and globally. Among women athletes, Kanta Butyal won two gold and one silver, Sudesh Basotra secured one silver and two bronze, Neha Sangral bagged one bronze and Pushpavathi JP claimed one gold and two silver medals. In men’s events, Rampaul Kapoor won one gold, one silver and one bronze, while Rakesh Kumar secured five medals.
Abdul Qayoom, President, Tarsem Lal Basotra, General Secretary and Rampaul Kapoor of the J&K Masters Athletics Association congratulated the athletes for their remarkable achievement.
