Asmita City Wushu League concludes

JAMMU, Feb 17: The Asmita City Wushu League Championship concluded today, attracting around 450 girls from 19 districts, four Khelo India centers and two PMDP centers. The third edition of this event was organized by the Wushu Association of J&K under the Khelo India scheme, which aims to provide a platform for female athletes to excel at national and international levels.
Dr. Narinder Singh Raina, MLA from Jammu South (RS Pura), was the chief guest and presented medals to the winners. Dr. Raina congratulated the Wushu Association of J&K and the J&K Sports Council for their efforts in organizing a successful event and for encouraging female athletes, particularly from far-flung areas.
Kuldeep Handoo, Chairman of the Wushu Association of J&K, highlighted the importance of the Khelo India Wushu Women League, which has helped shape female athletes to perform on international podiums. He also announced the Sub-Junior and Junior National Wushu Championship, scheduled in Srinagar from March 27-31, where 600 girls from across India will participate.
The event was attended by Rajeev Sharma (Member Sports Council), Touseef Raina (Mayor Baramulla), Dr. Swati Sharma, Rajat Sharma, Bhavneet (General Secretary, Wushu Association of J&K), Kamal Kishore (Organizing Secretary) and DySP Sharat Chander Singh (Athletic Secretary), among others.
