Asmita Basketball League begins in Jammu, Srinagar

JAMMU/SRINAGAR Nov 14: The Asmita Basketball League began with electrifying matches in Jammu and Srinagar, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit among women players. In Jammu, KV No 2 Jammu Cantt defeated APS Ratnuchak by 24-16 in the opening match. The second game saw Katra Women overcome Heritage School by 60-40, while STC Warriors beat APS Domana by 29-15 in the third contest.
In Srinagar, Silent Buckets secured a 23-11 win against Life Sports Academy and Anantnag Warriors triumphed over GDC Nowakadal by 21-6. The league is dedicated to promoting women’s basketball and is organized by JKBA under the aegis of the Khelo India Division, Sports Authority of India and the Basketball Federation of India, in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Officials present included Aman Sharma (General Secretary JKBA), Ashok Singh Jamwal (Senior Vice President JKBA), Shaktish Chopra (Former Manager JKSC) and coaches Sachin Dogra, Rohan Kundal and Amanjot Singh. The Jammu leg is hosted at MA Stadium, Srinagar at Gindun Sports Complex, with finals scheduled for Sunday.
