Inter Collegiate Badminton Tournament

JAMMU, Sept 20: ASCOMS retained Inter-Collegiate Badminton trophy by beating PG Department in the summit clash at University of Jammu. here.
Prof Deepankar Sen Gupta, Dean Placement, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the finals, who distributed the trophies and medals among the winners and congratulated both the teams alongwith Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Shashi Kant Goswami, Romesh Mangotra, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Jai Bharat, Harvinder Pal Singh, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar and Vikram.
ASCOMS defeated PG Department by (2-0). In Singles, Akansha Sharma beat Meetali Manhas (21-12, 21-10), while in Doubles, the duo of Aayushi Jani and Ritwika Sharma drubbed the pair of Meetali Manhas and Amrita Sharma by (21-12, 21-13).
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gourav Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Jeevan Lal, Gourav Jamwal, Gourav Raina and Narainder.
