POONCH, Dec 6: Army XI defeated Media XI by 23 runs in a friendly T20 Cricket
Tournament organized by Poonch Brigade at Pritam Pavilion, here today.
Commander Poonch Brigade, Brigadier N S Brar was the chief guest on the occasion who also distributed prizes among the participants.
Army XI, after winning the toss, set a decent target of 173 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Imran Khan, skipper of the Army XI was the top scorer, who scored unbeaten 69 runs while
Adarsha Parihar contributed 27 runs. Gajendra Rathore and Shikhar chipped in with 24 runs each. Mayank and Rohit took 3 wickets each for Army XI, while Naveen claimed one wicket. Imran Khan was declared as the man of the match.
In reply, Media XI could manage to score 150 runs in 19.2 over, thus lost the match by 21 runs. Shahzad Bhat and Faisal Noumani were the top scorers from Media XI, scoring 34 and 35 runs respectively. Salil Raina also scored 28 runs for his team, and Sameer chipped in with 18 runs. Shazad Bhat and J B Singh took 2 wickets each.
