Army organizes Youth Mela

LADAKH, Sept 15: Under Operation Sadbhavana, Army organized a Youth Mela at Khaltse.
The Youth Mela was inaugurated by Commander, Tiger Hill Brigade.
On the occasion, various competitions were organized for the students of local schools as well as for youth of Khaltse.
The entire function infused a spirit of bonhomie between the local populace and the Army. There was lot of enthusiasm and desire to excel among the participants.
A medical camp and recruitment awareness was also organized, in which local populace were made well aware about the health and recruitment process.
While speaking, Commander said that the aim of the Youth Mela was to project the image of the Army, foster solidarity with local populace and motivate local youth to join the Indian Army.
Ladakh is a sparsely populated region steeped in ancient culture. It remains wonderfully exotic with unparalleled beauty and untapped natural resources in fairly abundant measure. Operation “SADBHAVANA” is an initiative launched by the Army in synergy with the civil administration to bring the people of Ladakh closer to the developments taking place in the national mainstream and help prepare them as better citizens of the country.
