JAMMU, Jan 9: In an effort to integrate the school children with the national mainstream and to promote educational interest amongst the students residing in far-flung area of Rajouri district, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of counter Insurgency Force, Romeo and Headquarter 13 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, organized an Inter-School debate competition at Youth Employment Guidance Node, Thanamandi in Rajouri today.
Three teams of brilliant students from school of Thanamandi participated in the competition. The event was witnessed by a large number of students, parents, teachers and prominent civilians in and around Thanamandi area.
Col R Ramanathan, Commanding Officer 38 Rashtriya Rifles (Madras) inaugurated the event amidst civil officials and prominent citizen of the area. Khurshid Ahmed Bismil, School Principal was present on the occasion.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the village heads, sarpanch and teachers of area and the prizes were distributed by Col R Ramanathan, who while speaking on the occasion said that the event will certainly encourage the children of the area to become well groomed and responsible citizens of the country.
The first three positions were claimed by Muslim Educational Trust, Baba Ghulam Shah Aademy, Tanamandi, Govt Girls Higher Sec School, Thanamandi and Govt Boys Higher Sec School Thanamandi, who were represented by Zenit Fatima, Mohd Saleem and Waqar Ahmed Khan respectively.
