Army organises drawing, painting competition

Srinagar, July 11: The students of Kalaruch Educational Zone got an opportunity to explore their creative talent in a drawing and painting competition organised at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Kalaruch by 41 Rashtriya Rifles (Maratha Li).
The event witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation from students from different age groups.
Themes of the competition were “Kashmir Paradise of Earth” and “Awam and Jawan, together towards peace”.
Speaking to the media the students and locals applauded the efforts of Army in engaging the youth in creative and constructive engagements and expressed their desire for frequent organization of such events.  The winners of the competition were awarded prizes by Commander, Hajipir Brigade.
The prominent personalities who also witnessed the show included Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, ZEO Khumriyal Zone, Shafi Baba, Principal of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Kalaruch, Tashee, SHO Police Station, Kalaruch and Sarpanchs, Panchs  from Thaiyan, Kanipura and Dogarpura village.
Meanwhile, 122 SATA Regiment (Mountain) organised a Sadbhavana Medical Camp on today at Drang Army Camp in district Budgam.
The Army put in all efforts and mobilsed resources to bring in three doctors and large quantity of medicines for the villagers.  The four hour event was a major success with over 500 men, 200 women and 300 children getting free medical advice and medicines.  Commanding Officer 122 SATA Regiment (Mountain) spoke to all the villagers about their safety and precautions to be taken when Army carryout practice firing in the Tosha Maidan Ranges.
The Regiment also distributed large number of Urdu leaflets on health and range safety precautions to the people.
