Army holds Cricket tourney

POONCH, Feb 7: The Indian Army today held a cricket tournament in memory of Sub Late Ram Singh, Sena Medal (SM) at Mastandhara, District Poonch. The event was launched by Colonel Rohit Bharat, Commanding Officer, 61 Rashtriya Rifles, with enthusiastic participation from local youth and community members.
Organized under Operation Sadbhavana, the tournament, running from February 7 to 12, 2026, features 12 teams and around 180 players, providing a vibrant platform to showcase young sporting talent. The event was attended by about 80 spectators, including civil dignitaries and arrangements for tea and snacks were made for participants and guests.
Ex-Sarpanch Tahira Tabasum lauded the Indian Army’s efforts in promoting youth empowerment, peace-building, and community engagement.
