Jammu, Aug 4: A tour has been undertaken by the Army for girls of Jammu and Kashmir, from Tehsil Nowshera to Lucknow, Agra and Dehradun under project ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ to enable them to have a feel of the rich traditions in other parts of our country besides giving them an exposure to current progress in the country in various fields.
The tour is being conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) in which 22 girl students and two teachers who hail from remote areas of Nowshera Tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir arrived in the city on August 3, 2013. The students also visited Lamartiniere Girls College, where the girls interacted freely with students of the college and were exposed to their thinking and attitude in life which has left great impression on the minds of the girls of our tour and the Lucknow Zoo.
The students also got the life time opportunity to interact with Banwari Lal Joshi the Governor of Uttar Pradesh who was appreciative of the interest and talent shown by these students and exhorted them to study hard and do their country proud.
