JAMMU, Feb 12: Army Public School Ratnuchak Junior Wing celebrated its much-awaited Annual Day, “Arcadia: A Dreamland of Nature,” with great enthusiasm, colour and joy in the school assembly area.
The programme beautifully showcased the innocence, creativity and confidence of young learners through an enchanting theme inspired by nature. The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment, followed by a reverential Ganesh Vandana performed by the students to seek divine blessings.
Sonal Sharma, Principal, APS Ratnuchak, highlighted the school’s academic and co-curricular achievements and emphasised holistic development, value-based education and experiential learning.
The cultural extravaganza mesmerised the audience with vibrant presentations including “Rhythm of Blooms / Petals of Grace,” a graceful flower dance; “Nawabi Andaaz / Pyaari Nok-Jhok,” an engaging qawwali; and “Panch Tatva: The Essence of Creation,” depicting the five elements of nature. The primary wing students further enthralled the gathering with “Roots and Rhythms – Colourful Folk Rhythms,” a lively Punjabi dance; “Symphony of Smiles” and “Melodique / Crescendo,” a melodious mash-up. The concluding presentation, “Harmony of Happiness,” reflected unity and joy.
A key highlight was the inter-house winning trophy, bagged by Yashodhra House. The Chairman, APS Ratnuchak, lauded the students’ confidence and appreciated the efforts of the school management and staff. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by tea and the departure of the chief guest.
