JAMMU, Aug 27: Army Public School Nagrota organised a function to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young talents of the School to lead their School from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence, here today.
It was the occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them by the School.
The event commenced with a customary lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Ruchi Bahl Principal APS Nagrota, wherein she welcomed the chief guest for the event, Brig. Rajeev Sharma, Chairman APS Nagrota.
The event was divided into two parts. In the first half, the newly elected student council received honorary designated positions in presence of chief guest and Principal APS Nagrota. To show respect and as a mark of appreciation, the pinning up of badges was done by parents of their respective wards. The parents too were equally enthused for receiving this gesture from the School authorities.
The ceremony progressed with acknowledgement of House Prefects, House captains and Club In-charges. Master Abhinav Shukla of class XI (Science stream) holds the charge as head boy and Tamanna Sharma of class XI (Science Stream) holds the position of head girl for the current session.
Thereafter, the student council took pledge to hold the School motto in high esteem. The second half of the event conducted awards and scholarship distribution ceremony to felicitate and honour the students who notched exceptional results in 10th and 12th Board exams, wherein the chief guest, Brig Rajeev Sharma congratulated and addressed the students as well as gathering.
He guided the student council to be impartial and honest in leadership unity, discipline and morality. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal APS Nagrota, Avinash Mahajan.
