JAMMU, Dec 9: Army Public School (APS) Damana celebrated its Annual Day with a vibrant cultural extravaganza themed “Jashn-e-Virasat”, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Jammu & Kashmir. Brig Kumar Anand, Commander 19 Infantry Brigade and Chairman APS Damana, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Surabhi Sonal, Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade, attended as the guest of honour.
The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an enthralling Dogri performance “Jammu Da Garoor” by Class II students. Over 500 students from the Foundational Wing presented a series of captivating cultural items, including classical and folk dances, thematic skits and musical presentations that highlighted the artistic diversity of J&K.
Performances such as “Jannat-e-Be­nazir,” “Hamara Jammu-Kashmir,” “Culture That Blooms,” and “Folk Fiesta of Jammu and Kashmir” received huge appreciation from the audience.
A prize distribution ceremony recognised achievers of various inter-house and co-curricular events. Brig Anand lauded the efforts of students, staff and parents, while Principal Pushpinder Kaur expressed gratitude to all stakeholders. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
