JAMMU, Dec 20: Andhra Pradesh was among a few teams which dominated the day-2 proceedings, while J&K eves suffered back to back defeats and J&K boys lost to formidable AP in the ongoing 59th National School Games Under-14 Boys and Girls Volleyball Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the chairmanship of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Aggarwal at MA Stadium, here.
The DG Sports visited the venue and interacted with the players of various teams.
Observer, SGFI Prashant Trivedi also witnessed the matches and appreciated the arrangements.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of organizing secretary, Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Youth Service and Sports, Jammu.
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh prevailed over Chhattisgarh and hosts Jammu and Kashmir by (25-12, 25-15) and (29-27, 25-15) respectively in the boys section and it got better of Himachal Pradesh by (25-15, 25-5) in the girls section, while Jharkhand defeated Vidya Bharti (2-0) by (25-19, 25-15) in boys and in girls, Jharkhand prevailed over Karnataka by (25-23, 25-11).
In other matches of the boys section, West Bengal got walkover against CBSE, Karnataka outplayed Maharashtra by (25-15, 25-11), UP drubbed Punjab by (25-12, 25-19), AP trounced Chhattisgarh by (25-12, 25-15), Uttrakhand beat Delhi by (25-9, 25-23), Manipur outclassed Jharkhand by (25-14, 25-19), IPSC got walkover against CBSE, West Bengal drubbed Tamilnadu by (25-23, 25-18), Maharashtra beat Rajasthan by (25-21, 25-16), Gujarat trounced Chhattisgarh by (25-23, 25-17), Karanataka got better of Haryana by (25-16, 25-21), Uttrakhand prevailed over Delhi by (25-9, 25-22) and Vidhya Bharti beat HP (25-7, 25-9).
Meanwhile, in girls section, J&K suffered back to back defeats against Rajasthan and Maharashtra by (25-13, 28-26) and (25-13, 25-21), Delhi beat Uttrakhand by (25-7, 25-20), Haryana trounced Gujarat by (25-5, 25-15), Maharashtra beat Punjab (25-5, 25-10), Chhattisgarh got better of West Bengal by (25-21, 16-14), Jharkhand beat Karnataka by (25-23, 25-11), Punjab beat Tamil Nadu by (25-22, 25-11), HP beat Chandigarh by (25-16, 25-10), Maharashtra defeated J&K by (25-13, 25-21), Vidya Bharti prevailed over Chandigarh by (25-14, 25-14), West Bengal beat Haryana by (25-23, 25-19), AP outplayed MP (25-15, 25-19), Rajasthan beat Punjab (25-18, 22-25, 15-12), UP drubbed Delhi (25-16, 25-20), Chhattisgarh got better of IPSC by (25-23, 25-10) and Karnataka prevailed over HP by (25-1, 25-16).
