Ananya, Aesh win U-10 titles; Raina duo in U-19 finals

JAMMU, Sept 10: Defeating their rivals in summit clashes convincingly, the budding shuttlers, Ananya Anand and Aesh Goswami lifted Under-10 girls and boys titles respectively in the ongoing 28th Jammu District Badminton Championship, being organized by Jammu City and District Badminton Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in Under-10 girls singles final, Ananya Anand trounced Sahani Singh by (2-1) sets by (7-21, 21-17 and 21-19), while in Under-10 boys singles title clash, Aesh Goswami drubbed Arnav Thakur in straight sets in an easy contest by (21-2, 21-3).
In Under-19 boys doubles semifinal, the Raina duo of Shantu and Saksham got better of the pair of Bashir and Bhavesh by (21-9, 21-15) to seal berth in the finals.
Meanwhile, in Under-15 girls singles semifinal, Peehushi Mahajan prevailed over Amishika Anand by (21-19, 21-13) to make way for the finals, while another semifinal in this category, Bhawani lost to Naman Mansotra by (12-21, 6-21) to help rivals to seal berth in the finals.
In Under-15 boys doubles semifinals, Nalin and Raghav thrashed Nitin and Aesh by (21-16, 21-7), while Prajwal and Avneesh lost to Aryan and Savinay by (11-21, 12-21).
