SRINAGAR, Apr 6: To boost tourism in the Valley, Department of Tourism today organized 3-day Alpine National Ski Championship in collaboration with Winter Games Federation at world famous tourist resort Gulmarg here today.
Special Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Government of India, Anup Kumar Thakur was the chief guest, while District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja was the guest of honour. Besides, large numbers of tourists were also present on the occasion.
While speaking, Anup Thakur said that Kashmir is famous worldwide for the scenic beauty and natural resources.
Director Tourism, Kashmir, Talat Parvaiz, on the occasion informed that as many as 82 skies are participating in the 3-day snow festival from six States of the country.
For the promotion of tourism in the Valley, events like horse races tourism festival and hill hiking were being organized at Gulmarg, Talat added.
