JAMMU, May 21: Alexander Memorial School, Jammu, held a special programme today to elect its new Student Council. The ceremony was attended by prominent guests, including chief guest Harvinder Kour, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) for Zone Jammu, and the guest of honour, Hemanta Digal, Priest Incharge of St. Paul’s Church.
Administrator Esther William and Principal Marshlaw Khokhar welcomed the dignitaries, presenting bouquets to them. Prominent members of the school management, including Johnny William (President of Alexander Memorial Educational Society), Victor John (Vice President of AMES) and other senior management members, were also present.
The chief guest presented school flag and house flags to the head boy, Abraham Khokhar and head girl, Upasana Gill, along with deputy head boy, Mohd Imran Malik and deputy head girl, Mehar Kalyan, were decorated with sashes and badges.
The eight House Captains include Amrish Singh and Diya Dogra (Youngson House), Aran Sotra and Aditi Arora (Hutchison House), Zeeshan Ayoub and Liza (Alexander House) and Samrat Kumar and Esha Thakur (William House).
The newly elected council members took an oath of loyalty, obedience, and service to the school and the nation. In her speech, Harvinder Kour encouraged students to embody honesty, integrity and become active participants in sports.
