JAMMU, Jan 12: Following the completion of trial matches in Jammu for selecting the final U-14 cricket team for the 69th National School Games under the supervision of Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K constituted committee, age verification tests (Bone Tests) are currently underway to ascertain the actual age of the players.
The championship, scheduled to be held in Sikar, Rajasthan, from January 19 to 23, 2026, is fast approaching, with the selected team slated to depart on January 16.
According to official sources, some players have already undergone the tests, while the remaining candidates will complete them by tomorrow. In the meantime, league matches were conducted by forming teams from the top 48 players, ensuring that every player—including those previously unselected—got an opportunity to showcase their skills. All matches were videographed for review by a professional and impartial selection committee.
Sources said players who fail the age verification tests will be excluded and action will be taken as per the rules. The final 16-member team will be uploaded on the SGFI portal within the next two days, after which the portal will close. The team announcement will follow once AVT reports are received.
