JAMMU, Feb 20: ADGP Armed Arun Kumar Choudhary honoured athlete Reyaz Ahmad and Boxing team of J&K Police in an impressive function held at Armed Police Hqrs, here today.
Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo SSP, Staff Officer to ADGP Armed and Mushtaq Ahmad DySP Pers APHQ were also present on the occasion.
Athlete Reyaz Ahmad who is a Selection-Grade Constable in IRP-10th Battalion has represented Jammu & Kashmir state among other 4 athletes from J&K Police in International level Indo-Bangladesh Masters Athletics Meet organized by Masters Athletics Association of Delhi (MAAD) at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium New Delhi from 14th to 16th February 2018. He has secured 1st position in the 10,000 mtrs event and won gold medal besides securing 2nd position in 5,000 mtrs event to win silver medal.
Similarly, ADGP honoured J&K Police boxing team which won 6 gold 3 silver and 1 bronze medal in State Boxing Championship.
The team participated in the Championship under the supervision of coach Sg.Ct. Khalida Bano, Assistant coach Sg.Ct. Sajad Ahmad and fitness trainer Sg.Ct. Aman Sangral.
Pugilists Constable Sarfaraz Choudhary, W/Constables Stanzin Youthok, Anju Bala, Rajni Kumari, Priyanka Devi and SPO Heena Choudhary won gold medals whereas Pugilists W/Sg.Ct. Parveen Devi, SPO Viney Partap, SPO Preeti Devi won silver medal and SPO Rinku Kumar won bronze medal in the Championship.
On the occasion, Mr Choudhary advised them to do regular practice in their respective fields and bring more laurels to the State and the Police in future.
He assured them that the Department will take care of all their requirements with regard to sports infrastructure and other allied necessities.
