Academy felicitates 2 promising cricketers

JAMMU, Sept 15: For their outstanding performances in BCCI tournaments in the last season, two promising cricketers of Jammu and Kashmir State-Rohit Sharma and Paras Sharma were felicitated by Sidhant Cricket Academy, Jammu, in an impressive and well attended function, here today.
While, talented speedster Rohit Sharma had a big haul of 32 wickets in Cooch Behar trophy last season, which helped him to get BCCI’s National selectors nod to be picked in India Under-19 camp probables, gritty and gutsy Paras Sharma, on the other hand performed fabulously during the last season and his performance helped him to make it to the North Zone-Under-19 team and J&K’s T20 team for Mushtaq Ali trophy.
Rohit was expected to be part of Under-19 India team this season as he was part of India camp alongwith stylish opener Shubam Khajuria, while Paras has the distinction of being part of North Zone team playing XI for all four matches in the last season.
During the function, Dr Anil Kumar Mahajan while speaking threw light on the requisite diet for sportspersons.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were veteran cricketer Sanjay Mahajan and cricket coaches Varinder Sharma, Rupali Salathia, Suresh Singh and Harsh.
