JAMMU, June 27: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu and Kashmir, has strongly condemned the continued delay in the release of the non-gazetted selection list and subsequent appointments of 225 outstanding sportspersons, despite the finalization of recruitment rules and their publication in the official gazette on October 4, 2024.
In a statement issued by Sudarshan Dogra, State Office Secretary, ABVP expressed deep concern over the prolonged delay, terming it a violation of the rights and dignity of deserving athletes who have waited for over a decade for their due recognition and appointments. Despite the merit list being finalized and all formalities completed, the selection list has not been published, causing immense financial and emotional hardship to the affected individuals.
Sannak Shrivats, State Secretary, ABVP Jammu Kashmir, stated, “The sports persons have been waiting for more than 12 years. The delay is not only unjust but deeply discouraging. We demand that the administration release the list and ensure appointments are made immediately.”
Reiterating its support for the athletes, ABVP Jammu Kashmir has demanded that the Government act swiftly to end the uncertainty. “The delay is unacceptable. It is time the administration delivers on its promises and gives these sportspersons the recognition and dignity they deserve,” Shrivats added.
