Abrar Club, United CC script convincing victories

JAMMU, Nov 1: Abrar Cricket Club and United Cricket Club registered convincing victories over their rivals to advance into the next round of the ongoing 4th Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being held at Satwari Cantonment ground, here.
In the first match of the day, Abrar Club outplayed Nagrota Cricket Club by 6 wickets in an easy contest.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Nagrota Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 148 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Rahul Singh was the top scorer with 59 runs, while Ishant, Mintu and Rajinder contributed with 27, 24 and 17 runs to the total respectively.
For Abrar Club, Deepak Dogra (Baba) was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2 wickets, while Sourav and Ashish claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Abrar Cricket Club chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets to win the match by 6 wickets. Deepak and Ishtiyaq were the main scorers with 56 and 49 runs respectively. For Nagrota Club, Kamal took 4 wickets.
In another match, United Cricket Club got better of Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club by a big margin of 61 runs to advance into the next round.
Batting first, United Cricket Club scored a decent total of 180 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Makhan Singh and Vicky were the main scorers with 55 and 49 runs respectively. Sahil and Gopi also contributed with 27 and 14 runs respectively. For GNCC, Vicky and Neeta took 2 wickets each, while Akash claimed one wicket.
In reply, GNCC managed to score 119 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 61 runs. Vicky, Jasvinder and Bunty contributed 25, 21 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Harry Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 3 wickets, while Gulshan Bali, Makhan and Danny took 2 wickets each. Makhan was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay Choudhary and Sam as umpires, while Dinesh Sharma was the scorer.
