SRINAGAR, Apr 9: Uri Premier League (UPL), a T-20 Cricket Tournament being organized by 3 Dogra Regiment got underway at Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Thirty two teams of the Uri tehsil are taking part in the championship which would conclude on April 20.
The tournament organized under the aegis of 12 Infantry Brigade is a step in promoting the talent of Kashmiri youth in the game of cricket.
The Uri Premier League is a run up to Kashmir Premier League 2013 which will be conducted at Srinagar in June and July. The tournament is being played on a knockout basis.
The teams have been divided in four pools. One team out of each pool will qualify for the semi- finals and the final match is slated for April 20.
The inaugural match was played between the teams of Uri Stars the defending champions and Dachi.
