Sports Xavier outplays Real Jammu 2-0

JAMMU, Nov 17: Exhorting upon youth to take part in sports activities extensively, the senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi said that role of sports is colossal in carving out character of an individual which in turn forms strong basis for nation building.
He said that sports offer multitude of benefits with its prime bounties including physical and mental well being, adding sports play a pivotal role in moulding one’s personality and generating sense of belongingness.
The BJP leader said this while addressing a gathering as chief guest during a football match played between Real Jammu and Sports Xavier teams at GGM Science College Football ground, here today.
The football match was organized by District Football Association Jammu, which is responsible for providing opportunities to local teams and budding players to partake in various competitions. This match was part of tourney of junior division in which 30 teams are participating.
While looking into the enthusiasm of players and the spectators during the match, he said that feeling of nationalism is indispensable to the idea of nation-building and sports is the only common thread that binds people together and helps in developing a feeling of patriotism and unity. He said sport helps players to develop better ways for coping up with the highs and lows of life.
Sports Xavier team trounced Real Jammu by two goals to nil (2-0).
Narinder Gupta, Chairman Adhoc Committee of District Football Association (DFA) Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
Later, Yudhvir Sethi also gave away trophy and other prizes to participants.
Others who were present included Secretary DFA Yusuf Don, Treasurer Mohit Verma, Senior Member Mohan Lal, Bharat Bhushan, Charanpreet Singh Bagga, Members F Sahotra, M Stephen, Rajesh, Rakesh Khanna, Arun Pal Singh, Dilbahadur, Councilor Anil Masoom, Vinod Kumar, Shivam Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Irfan, Parveen Kerni, Sunil Dogra, Rahul Hindu, Vinay Sharma, Vishal Kohli, Chaman Angral, Ramesh Gupta, Sukhbir Kohli, Sardari Lal and Rahul Khajuria.
