JAMMU, Apr 13: GD Goenka Public School, Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust celebrated the 11th Annual Function ‘Aahvaan 2019’ with zeal and zest at Goenkan Green Acres, here today.
Navin Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce was the chief guest on the occasion, while Rahul Bansal, President of Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust and Sanya Bansal, Director of the school also graced the occasion with their presence.
Principals from various renowned CBSE schools were also present on the occasion. The gala show ‘Aahvaan’ commenced with the presentation by the gifted school choir. The school orchestra put forth a harmonious blend of string and percussion instruments.
The invocation of Lord Ganesha to seek blessings of the Almighty displayed the abounding flair in the Goenkans.
A Tableau was presented by the little Goenkans which depicted their talent of
music, dance and enactment. It was followed by the floral felicitation of the chief guest and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The Principal of the school, Rajesh Rathore delivered the welcome address, touching tangentially upon the achievement galore of the school for the year 2018.
It was followed by an elaborate ‘Award Ceremony’ wherein the meritorious achievers were felicitated with prizes, medals and trophies.
The grand finale of the evening was the breathtaking presentation of the play Razia Sultan.
The play was a kaleidoscope of dances and medley of songs, which captivated the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed delight on the accomplishments of the school and urged the students to hone their talent to shape their destiny and bring laurels to the state and the nation as well.
He expressed his happiness over the befitting recognition accorded to awardees during the Award ceremony, which would definitely serve as an impetus to their stellar performance consistently.

The event culminated with the singing of National Anthem.
