Cricket tourney gets underway at MAM College

JAMMU, Feb 13: A five day cricket tournament being organised by the Hostel boarders of Govt MAM College, which got underway in the college campus under the supervision of Prof (Dr) Karan Singh Bhau, Hostel Warden, here today. Prof (Dr) PK Sharma, Principal of the college inaugurated the tournament in the presence of chief guest, SDPO (Gandhi Nagar), Sumiya Wani.
A total of four team are participating in the tournament. Susheel Sharma, Salman Bhat, Shubham Rana and Amit Sharma were the team captains of Sem II, Sem IV, Sem VI and PG student players respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Karan Singh Bhau motivated the players to play the game with sportsmanship.
He said sports and games apart from building physical fitness of the players helps them to build character.
In the inaugural match, the toss was won by Sem IV, who elected to bat first. Prominent among other dignitaries present on the inaugural ceremony were Prof Twinkle Suri, DSW Cluster University of Jammu; Dr Subash Chander Sharma, Vice Principal of the College; Dr Ramesh Chander Gupta, Dr Anil Kumar Ganjoo, Dr Heera Saini, Dr Munir Hussain, Dr Joginder Singh, Dr Muzammil Hussain, Dr Banpreet Kour, Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul (Convener IQAC), Prof PS Thakur, Prof Vishal Sharma, Prof Devinder Sharma and Vishal Sharma (IT In-charge J&K State).
