JAMMU, Feb 5: Government College for Women, Parade organized One Day Seminar on the topic, ‘Environmental Pollution: Impact, consequences and remedial measures’, here today.
The event was partially sponsored by J&K State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology.
Upender Pachnanda, Chief Soil Conservator, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof MK Jyoti, Former Head, Department of Zoology, University of Jammu was the guest of honour.
Prof GM Bhat, Head, Department. of Geology, University of Jammu, presented Keynote, while Prof S PS Dutta, Former Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu chaired the inaugural session.
The seminar brought the officials, representatives, researchers and experts from different colleges, Universities, organizations, agencies, together to deliberate on issues relating to Environmental pollution on different themes of great relevance and public importance.
Dr Pragya Khanna, organizing secretary of the programme presented introduction address, while Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College conveyed that organization of such events on the campus was important with a view to expose the students to the ever changing scenario on the mother earth.
Dr Poonam Kamotra and Prof Chanchal Angral presented the vote of thanks.
