Education getting focused attention: DyCM

JAMMU, Feb 4: Underli-ning education as priority area of the Government, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that focused attention is being paid to upgrade infrastructure in the sector and to equip education institutes with most modern facilities. He said education has a vital role to play in enlightening society as well as individuals. Flagship programmes like SSA and RMSA would go a long to improve the facilities provided in schools all across the State, he added.  
He was addressing Annual Day cum Prize Distribution function of one of the premier girls education institutes namely Government Girls Higher Secondary, Mubarak Mandi, here today.
The Deputy Chief Minister was chief guest on the occasion.
MLA Ashok Khajuria, Commissioner/ Secretary, Education FA Factoo, Director, School Education, Jammu Dev Lata, DIG JP Singh, CEO, Jammu NR Dingra, parents, staff and school children attended the grand event.
On the occasion prizes were distributed among students of the school who had excelled in the different curricular and co-curricular activates.
Annual School magazine ‘Sahtiya Sarita’ was also released on the occasion.
Stressing on in-service training for teachers, the Deputy Chief Minister said that to update professional skills in tune with modern day teaching techniques the teaching fraternity would be sent to different institutes.
Ashok Khajuria also spoke on the occasion and sanctioned Rs 20,0000 from CDF for the construction of hall on first floor in the school premises.
