UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: District Udhampur Open Table Tennis Championship organized by District Table-Tennis Association Udhampur under the aegis of J&K State Table Tennis Association commenced today at Badminton Hall here.
On the occasion, Anil Sharma, Assistant Director Planning was the chief guest where as ZPEO Santosh Kumari was guest of honour.
Tarun, General Secretary of the Association presented the welcome address and informed that 175 players from every nook and corner of the district are participating in this Championship. He further said that only motive behind to organize this tournament is to channelize the energy of youngsters in positive direction.
While addressing the gathering, Anil Sharma Assistant Director Planning conveyed his best wishes to players.
In the end, Ankit Sharma, Joint Secretary and Prikshit Khajuria Treasurer presented vote of thanks.
Prominent among others present were Sunny Sharma Vice President, Akash Sharma Organizing Secretary, Amit Sharma, Ravi and Vishal Bamotra.
The matches were officiated by Sanjeev Sharma, Jeevan Bhagat, Sahil Gupta and Akhil Bandral.
In Cadet Girls U-12, Vanshika Gupta beat Anshika Bhardwaj 2-1, whereas in Cadet Boys U-12, Archit Mahajan beat Abhishek Gupta by 2-1 and Raghu Pratap Singh beat Prince Pratap by 2-0.
In Sub-Junior U-15 (boys), Saksham Mahajan beat Sheetiz Shan by 2-1 and Ujjawal Sharma beat Chaitnaya Sadotra by 2-0, whereas in Junior Girls U-15, Palak beat Khushi by 2-1.
